No better day than Tax Day (in the US)
Today, it is tax day here in the US. While I cringed at having to pay taxes today, I am reminded that 249 years ago, we were paying taxes to a different kind of establishment.
An establishment that we, the people, wanted to change for a better way forward.
An independence built on freedom to choose, with rights and justice for all.
We are knocking on that door again, facing choices and decisions that may not necessarily be the narratives we want or seek.
So, like our great experiment, I am venturing into my own experiment. I am not sure where it will lead, but I sense the time is now to do something beyond my comfort zone. To stand out, not fit in.
